UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA, LAS VEGAS PICKED TO FINISH FIRST IN 2024-2025 WCHL PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA (Sept. 23, 2024) – The University of Nevada, Las Vegas was selected by the Western Collegiate Hockey League coaches as the unanimous preseason favorite to win the WCHL in the 2024-2025 season.

In this season’s WCHL Preseason Coaches’ Poll, UNLV received all 121 possible points from the WCHL coaches as all eleven WCHL head coaches selected the Rebels to finish atop the WCHL this season.  In second place in the poll was the University of Utah, which garnered 98 points, just three points ahead of Grand Canyon University which received 95 points for third place in the poll.

The University of Arizona finished fourth in the poll with 85 points.  In the fifth spot with 69 points was Missouri State University.  Arizona State University and the University of Colorado each received 59 points from the WCHL coaches and tied for the sixth spot in the poll.

The University of Central Oklahoma was selected in eighth place with 51 points, while Colorado State University was slotted in the ninth position with 42 points.  The University of Oklahoma received 36 points to take the tenth spot in the poll while WCHL newcomer San Diego State University rounded out the poll in the eleventh spot with 11 points.
