ARIZONA STATE TOPS WCHL PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL

 

OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 20, 2013 – The Arizona State University ice hockey team has been selected as the 2013-2014 preseason favorite in the Western Collegiate Hockey League according to the league's coaches.

In the WCHL Coaches poll, Arizona State, ranked No. 1 in the ACHA for much of the 2012-2013 regular season, was picked to finish in first place by five of the conference's six head coaches. The University of Oklahoma received the other first-place vote and finished second in the balloting, four points behind the Sun Devils.  The University of Central Oklahoma finished third in the WCHL preseason poll, just two points ahead of The University of Arizona.  Colorado State and Colorado, both of which are playing at the ACHA D1 level this season after several successful seasons at the ACHA D2 level, round out the remainder of the poll.
